Apperance

As an adult, Yuya is probably slightly taller than in canon, but he and his brothers remain the same height as each other.
Not a lot has changed with Yuya from his canon appearance. He still has messy red and green hair and almost always wears his goggles on his head. He will only ever NOT wear them if he has to dress formally. He also still wears the pendulum pendant around his neck. He always has that on him no matter what he's wearing.
Yuya loves to wear brightly coloured clothing and dislikes wearing anything that seems dark and boring.

When dueling in the Super Junior League, he often wears a large white hooded cape that he had Kotori make for him. (This is the same cape as Manga Yuya wears)

Personality:

Yuya is an energetic and rather theatrical guy who loves entertaining people. He enjoys being the centre of attention and making people laugh, whether it's through dueling, telling jokes or even preforming tricks. He tends to come off as a bit of a jokester and also tends to tease those closest to him. Usually this is done in good spirits, but occasionally his teasing can go a bit far and result in upsetting someone, but he'll usually be quick to apologise.

He's quite a creative person and beyond dueling, he also enjoys organising fun events. He has a talent for decoration, enjoys putting together and wearing costumes (with his mother's help) and is also rather decent at singing and dancing. He is also quite good at acrobatics, which is needed a lot with action dueling. He can do backflips and swing on things easily and with amazing accuracy.

In the current reality, Yuya has learned to deal with his emotions in a more healthier way and having a much larger supportive circle with his family and friends helps maintain it. Still, if things do get rough for him emotionally, he can sometimes slip into his old habits of hiding his emotions behind a smile, or if things are particularly bad, withdrawing into himself. That said, his friends and family know him well and tend to be aware of when he's not feeling his best, so make sure to talk to him and support him. Yuzu, especially, is particularly good with picking up on it.
Out of his brothers, Yuya tends to be seen as the most sensitive and thus is seen as the 'youngest' out of them.

Yuya is quite a big pacifist and isn't a fan of conflict or violence. He's not the type that would lash out at anyone, and would only do so if he felt it was his only choice in a very serious situation, or if he was mentally and emotionally pushed to a brink. (Even then, he would probably be the one on the losing end. He has no idea how to properly throw a punch.)
He believes that dueling shouldn't be used to hurt someone, and dislikes it when it is used that way. That said, he tries these days to accept that there are some styles of dueling that are used that way, but he refuses to duel that way himself. He much prefers to entertain people in a way that makes them laugh and smile!

History:

In the current reality, Yuya grew up within the Sakaki household, alongside his three brothers; Yuto, Yuri and Yugo and his parents, Yoko and Yushou.
Yuya was incredibly close to his father and idolised him growing up. He wanted to be an Entertainment Duelist just like him, so he spent a lot of time with him, especially to practise dueling.
As Action Dueling grew in popularity, Yushou opened up You Show Duel School, a duel cram school that focused on Entertainment Dueling, which Yuya attended after school, alongside his childhood best-friend, Yuzu, who was the daughter of Yushou's close friend and the principal of the Duel School, Shuzou Hiragi.

When Yuya and his brothers were about 13, Yushou left on a trip to try and find his friend, Leo Akaba, who had disappeared around the Bermuda Triangle. He was due back in Japan for a big title duel against Strong Ishijima, but he never turned up and no-one could get in contact with him. The crowd was quick to judge Yushou as a 'coward' who ran away from the match.
Out of his brothers, Yuya was the one who took Yushou's disappearance the hardest. He was also unfortunately the main target of bullying from other children (and even some adults) over his father, as they knew that Yuya had always been a fairly sensitive kid. Yuya's brothers and Yuzu would often stick up for him and the bullies would soon scatter.

A few months later, Yuya got the chance to duel Strong Ishijima himself in place of his father, and during this duel he somehow created Pendulum Summoning and won the duel.
Thanks to this, Yuya was recognised as the pioneer of Pendulum Summoning and got offered a spot at Duel Academy by Principal Samejima himself. Seeing great potential in him, Yuya was able to by-pass the tests to get in, but on the agreement that he started in the lowest dorm, Osiris Red. Yuya agreed to by-pass the written test, but insisted he at least did the dueling test to show his ability, as he didn't feel comfortable getting a free pass into a major dueling school.

Once he started at Duel Academy, he was roomed with Yuma, who he quickly became friends with.

A lot of his history from his old biography mostly stays the same, but with the insertion of his brothers and the absence of anything to do with Academia/Arc-V Plot (Though he does now remember the events that took place in the previous reality.)

Sometime during Yuya's final year at Duel Academy, Yushou returned, after being lost in the Bermuda Triangle himself, but had failed to find Leo Akaba.

Now Yuya has graduated from Duel Academy, he is working hard at his dueling, both at the Super Junior League and in his training with Serena Akaba. The main goal he is working towards is still to be an Entertainment Duelist, but even though he is still influenced by his father's dueling, he's striving hard to find ways to set himself apart from his father and have a style of Entertainment Dueling that's all his own.

He is also currently working part-time at Leo Corp's Domino City Branch, as an assistant to their Event Coordinator.

Relationships:

Sakaki Family: Yuya is close to his whole family, but he is the most closest to his father, Yushou and brother Yuto. That said, growing up, all three of his brothers were fairly protective of Yuya, as he was seen as the youngest and most sensitive.
Out of the Sakaki pets, Yuya is quite bonded with En the corgi.

Yuzu: Yuya shares an extremely close bond with his childhood best friend and girlfriend, Yuzu. He loves spending time with her and loves making her smile, though the two often will tease each other from time to time as well. When Yuya has a problem, or has something he needs to talk about, Yuzu is the most likely person he'll open up to, as Yuzu can often tell when Yuya is trying to hide how he's feeling.
No matter where their relationship goes in the future, Yuya cannot see a future without Yuzu in it somehow and doesn't even want to consider that possibility.

Yuma: Yuma and Yuya share a very close friendship and a similar love for food. Although their adult lives are keeping them busy, they still try to find time to hang out now and then, whether it's just on their own, or with others.

Akaba Siblings: Yuya has a lot of respect for the Akaba siblings. He does find that Reiji often leaves him feeling a tad uncomfortable at times, but understands he's not particularly good with people.
His interactions tend to be mostly with Serena, who he trains with and sees as a good friend he can trust and rely on.
He knows that Reira is quite sensitive, so whenever he's around them, Yuya tries to take a much gentler approach, so not to overwhelm them. He also likes making Reira smile, so will often try and show them fun things.

Hobbies and Interests:

Dueling: Yuya has had a keen interest in dueling since he was little and loves the Entertainment Style of dueling that his dad created. He aims for dueling to be his main career in the future, but he does dueling for fun against his family and friends too.
Events: When he became Duel Academy's Events Organiser, Yuya found he had a keen interest in creating events for the school that people would enjoy. He also really enjoyed and has a keen interest in doing the decoration for the events and seems to have a flair for it.
Other: Although none of these are particularly hobbies, Yuya is actually really good at preforming magic tricks. He is also quite decent at singing and dancing. I feel he'd be the first person on a karaoke machine.

Abilities:
Yuya has spirit sense like his brothers, which makes him a bit more sensitive to Duel Spirits. This is the only ability he's been left with, after being separated from his past as one of Zarc's fragments, as it was an ability Zarc, himself, had.

Yuya is also very acrobatic, which he uses in Action Duels. His movements tend to be a bit more graceful than Yuto's and have a bit more of a flair to them (he does a lot more flips and things.)
