[Story] Burnout
Burnout
Another day, another tournament.
Yuya looked at himself in the mirror of the bathroom as he prepared for the day ahead.
For months now, he'd been putting a lot of focus on entering any tournament he could, both in-person and online in Duel Links. This was also on top of the duels he often did as part of the Super Junior League. A lot of his week was now taken up by attending these tournaments, which didn't leave a lot of time for much else, especially simple rest and downtime, other than sleeping at night. Any free time he did happen to have was taken up by other important things, like spending time with Yuzu.
He felt he had to keep pushing through, after all, now his dad was out of commission, it was down to him to be the entertainment duelist of the family and continue carrying that torch.
Though lately, he'd begun to feel rather tired and down on himself and he wasn't really sure why. His dueling was going great, even if he wasn't making the progress he had hoped, but part of him had been wanting to lessen what he was doing, to take a step back, but each time he fought those thoughts away.
This is what he needed to do.
This is what he HAD to do.
This was something that he wanted.
Right?
Taking a deep breath, he slapped his hands to his face in an effort to try and focus his thoughts and shake away any doubts swirling in his mind, before forcing a smile on his face. He had a tournament to do today and he needed to focus completely on that.
