Event Post 11 - End of Year Get-Together!

*Since this week is a week off from classes before the next year of school at the Academy begins, Yuya has decided to put a little personal get-together for his and Yuma's friends in the Osiris Red dining area. A chance for them to celebrate passing their finals and also to give a send-off to their friends who are graduating.

The tables have been moved to be around the walls of the room and have bowls and plates of various snacks, as well as various drinks in bottles (soda or water) which can be poured out into plastic cups that are provided. Music is playing off of Yuya's duel disk, but it's not particularly loud. This is definitely more a personal gathering party rather than a full-on party.

Don't feel your character knows Yuya and Yuma good enough to be invited? Just turn up anyway! They won't mind!*

I see... I don't really know him very well, personally. I only ever seem to meet him at these gatherings. *he seems to .... the best way to say it is look over you, despite his eyes being closed.

What would you say a Yuya aura feels like?*

*On the surface, his aura comes off as lively, indicating a rather active and energetic person, but underneath that is an aura of some inner turmoil, a fresh trauma very recent that he seems to be recovering from, though there is some turmoil that may feel like it's been there a while.
You may be able to tell from this, that on the outside, Yuya comes off as an energetic and happy person, but he is prone to hiding deeper feelings and that there is something very recent that's bothering him.*

... You seem like a very nice person. If a bit hidden, I think. *W-what.*

*That really takes Yuya off-guard.*

You feel like you're hiding things about yourself. Deep down.

Something's happened to you recently, has it?

*You hear him pause awkwardly and then try to stumble out some words, before managing to make a sentence.*

... how did you know that?

... Oh. Oh, sorry. I sorta went off tangent, I think. I made your uncomfortable now. *he rubs his head a bit*

I can... sense things about people, to compensate for other deficiencies. *like the evident fact that he needs a cane to get around.*

*So he had heightened sense around people because he isn't able to see? He'd heard about people who's other senses were more powerful to make up for one sense being damaged or unusable, but he really didn't expect anything like that.*

No, it's okay. I just wasn't expecting it.
So you can sense the feelings of other people?

[allunseeing]

Feelings is... A base level, for me, but yes. A more accurate description would be that I can sense living things, and their feelings, their personality, can change what I'm sensing. Of course, it doesn't help too much if I'm in a crowded area-- everything sorta... mixes together.

Sorry, though. Sometimes, I forget that people aren't too used to it. But something about you... Hm.

*Yuya feels like he's so see-through right now. Like everything he is and even feels is on display to this guy. It is making him feel a little uncomfortable.*

Hmm... You just seem like a sensitive sort of person. Someone who feels very strongly about things, but as a result, is most affected when something happens.

... Ah, but don't worry. I can tell you're uncomfortable, but... I don't know anything specific about you. I just became curious, because of it.

Wow, you can really read people incredibly well with that ability, huh.

A lot of it is assumptions, but I guess I managed to hit the mark, didn't I?

Yeah, you really did.

*He goes quiet for a moment, before speaking.*

Something bad happened to one of the teachers recently. She got badly injured. She almost died.

...it was the most violent thing I've ever seen in my life.

And it was done through dueling...

... I see... so that's something that happened? One of the teachers got hurt...?

I'm sorry to hear that. And through the game that's being taught, here... I can see how that could affect you.

I see dueling as a way to entertain people. To make them smile and laugh!
Seeing it be used like that... *He shakes his head.* ... the one who she dueled against was so volatile. He's a demon who wants to feed off our planet. There's another two of them too.

...and Yuma will have to face them sooner or later because his power is one of the few things that destroys them.

*Yuya can feel his stomach turning a little talking about this, so he cradles himself a little.*

Why do things like this even have to happen...

[allunseeing]

... You're very upset about this. Sorry, I must've reminded you of it. *he taps his cane on the floor a moment*

... Though, Yuma. He is involved with this?

[pendulum_soul]

*He nods.*

Yeah.
He's fought demons like this before, once was with me, but because his power can destroy them, they see it as a threat.

They want to kill him.
The demon that came here wished to do just that... but Desdemona-sensei protected us...! She put her life on the line for us...!

*You can probably hear the emotional strain in his voice right now. It's upsetting for him, but, at the same time, you feel like he hasn't really talked much about it since it happened and he's been keeping most of this to himself since.*

[allunseeing]

*I don't need to hear it-- I can feel it. Like a lot of barely repressed emotions, trying to keep themselves under control...*

... Have you talked to Yuma, about this? About how you feel about this?

[pendulum_soul]

*He shakes his head.*

No. Yuma's got a lot on his plate already at the moment. I didn't want to add to that or worry him with this.

[allunseeing]

*I feel like this would already worry him, if any of this got out. But he finally learns to keep his comment to himself.*

You care a lot about him.

*Yuya nods.*

Yeah.
He was the first friend I made here. We became pretty close almost straight away.
He and I have been through a lot together just in this last year, but he's had so much stuff happen to him recently.

[allunseeing]

I see...

It's nice to hear, he has such close friends. I don't really get to speak with him much. It's hard to... pinpoint people, essentially, when it's in that school building.

But it's nice to hear he has people who really like him.
