...I think I'm going to avoid vending machines for a while. A long while.

I've been a bit out of it the last few days, but when I was catching up on some stuff, I heard about the announcement about the Pro-Duelist, Edo Phoenix, going missing.
By the sounds of it, he vanished under similar circumstances to my father.
A Pro-Duelist who didn't show up to a match and has been missing ever since with no trace.

Maybe it's just a coincidence but... there's always a chance it might not be.

Saturday will mark 3 years since my dad disappeared.

And it's possible this Phoenix guy just turned into a different kind of bird:

A chicken.

Because vending machines that put horror illusions on me aren't fun.

That's what everyone said when my dad vanished too. That he was a coward, too scared to turn up for his match, but I know my dad and I know he'd never do something like that! Maybe I don't know this Edo Phoenix as well... but it seems he's had a really long career... I honestly don't think he'd just chicken out either.

And I dunno. If they didn't coward out, they were probably both killed and the bodies dumped into the ocean, unfortunately.

Unless they ran off to the 12 Dimensions or whatever.

And kidnapping comes with a ransom, typically.

Well... Yuma found his parents in another world, so maybe it's a possibility...

I had a vending machine recently make maggots come out of everywhere. It only stopped when I was a good three blocks away from where I was.
I just thought it was some kind of harmless Halloween promotion before that happened...

I think it was someone or something's idea of a Halloween prank, using illusions to scare us. I originally thought the vending machine would just give me some dud Halloween prize or something, but instead...
... what it showed me was horrifying. The illusion looked and felt so real, so it fooled me into thinking it was real and...

... I guess long story short, it caused me to have a panic attack and I started hyperventilating. Thankfully Samasu-sensei found me and took me to the infirmary where they were able to calm me down and let me rest for a few hours afterwards.
I've never had that happen to me before.

Yeah, I'm okay. Everyone's okay and that's what I just need to focus on.

My head's been a little foggy since it happened and I sometimes feels a little nauseous thinking about it but, it's slowly going away.

I just need to stop focusing on it and move on. In the end, it was just someone's insensitive Halloween prank and not anything that was real, despite how real it felt.

Keeping your mind of it will be for the best.

You'll get to keep whatever outfit items I make for you.
