Event 27 - After Finals Party

*Today is the day for Yuya's After Finals Party which is being held at the Obelisk Blue male dorms, in their huge events hall. This party is for everyone to celebrate their finals success and to see off the students graduating this year.
It is also open to new students, who will be starting the Academy in the new semester!

For Yuya, this is the last event he will be hosting at the academy as their events organiser, so anyone familiar with his parties will notice he's gone all out on everything! There's a very gold and red theme with the decorations that are everywhere, including gold and red balloons, streamers and tassels. There is also plenty of food and drink at the buffet table.

One side of the hall has tables and chairs, with balloons as their centre pieces. There is also a dance floor on the other side of the hall.

There is no particular dress code for the party, though dressing up in nice party clothes was encouraged!

"I don't JUST want to focus on Xyz summoning. Besides, LDS is full of a bunch of selfish egotistical elitists who think that they're the best of the best just because they're LDS students. Especially that one spoiled brat by the name of Masumi Koutsu, who I've had the EXTREME pleasure of beating TWICE."

I wanted to go to LDS.

*says that in a rather huffy manner.*

Melody takes a sip from her drink.

"Soooo.....how come you applied here instead? I could be wrong, but isn't LDS easier to get into than Duel Academy?"

Actually, no. I tried to go to LDS first, but they rejected me for "insufficient credentials."

I still don't know entirely what that means. *crossing her arms*

"Well, if it makes you feel any better, LDS can't be all that great if the rest of the students are anything like that skank Masumi. And she was supposed to be the top student of the Fusion course."

[cattailtricks]

*Somehow, she feels like she's way nicer than she's letting on here, since LDS students come around to SJL all the time and they're never... "skanks". But she keeps quiet on that.*

I'd still rather be at LDS, but I've been here a year already. I'm not gonna change it.

"Wow, a whole year, huh? So......what kind of students can I expect to run into here?"

Melody was tempted to ask "Are there any other cat people here" but decided not to as that would be rude to her senpai.

*in the current span of time this takes place, she'd be able to answer "no", and yet--*

Well, you can meet all types here. There's a lot of people who are here for their own reasons, and we even have people who're doing post-graduate work. I think we got a couple transfers from another Academy who graduated before, but since their school's much smaller, there's more clout to be represented by Duel Academy, I think.

Melody took another look around the party hall.

"Well, I think I'm gonna go mingle. It was nice meeting you, Sonia-sempai! Hope to see you around school!"

And with that, she took off to do just that.

*... waves Melody off, a bit awkwardly. And then she pulls at her ears a little, contemplating.

Whatever the case is, hopefully she'll be able to manage anything else around here...*
