*A day after the events, leading to the duel between Yuya and Yuma, Yuya had woke up to find himself at the Academy's infirmary.
He was covered in scrapes, bruising and some burns, but thankfully nothing that wouldn't heal on it's own fully in time. Even his left leg was thankfully not too heavily injured, just currently swollen with some minor puncture wounds. He was still in a lot of pain, and he was still exhausted, but he was going to be okay.

Laying in the infirmary bed, he just stared up at the ceiling of the room in a daze. He'd seen more than enough of the infirmary last year and he really hadn't wanted to start off the new year back in this place, but, it couldn't be helped. In the end, he was just glad that he was able to return Yuma back to normal.
Though he wondered what kind of impact all this would have on his friend when he woke up.
Right now, Yuma, who was in the bed next to his, was still unconscious and he expected him to stay like that for a while longer yet. He'd really pushed himself to, and beyond, his own limits thanks to the influence the chaotic energy had over him.
It was going to take a while for Yuma to recover from that.

On the table, beside his bed, was his duel disk. On top of it was the dragon he used in the duel with Yuma.

*Yuya casts a tired glance over at the door when they enter the room. He had a feeling that he would be seeing Sadame at some point, so he wasn't surprised when he saw him enter the room behind Shirou.*

Shirou. Samasu-sensei.

*He lifts his hand up in a half attempt to greet them with a wave.*

*Sadame helps lead Shirou over to where Yuya is. While Sadame looks neutral, you can... kinda tell that he's worried himself.

But that isn't compared to Shirou, whose usually calm expression is most definitely full of concern.*

Are... Are you going to be alright? After what happened...

Yeah. I'm going to be fine. Just need to take the time to rest and heal.

*Yuya pauses for a moment, before continuing.*

I'm... sorry that happened while you were with us.

*shakes his head*

No, you do not need to apologize for it. It was something unexpected, right? I don't at least expect you planned on that as a demonstration.

Yeah... we weren't expecting anything like that to happen but, I just feel bad that you got caught up in it.
You really seemed to be affected by what was going on at the time.

... I could... Sense it. I could sense that energy that surrounded Yuma...

But I could also sense that... "Barian"'s aura.

What happened to Yuma looked really terrifying, so I can only imagine how the energy must have felt for you.

But I promise. We're both going to be okay.

Mnn... I really hope you will be. I just wish I... Hadn't been able to do anything, during it. I could tell it was bad, but... being able to tell it and doing something about it are different things, aren't they?

Even being on the sidelines, giving encouragement to another, is really helpful.

Mm... *he hangs his head a bit, but Sadame puts his hand on his shoulder, squeezing slightly. R-right, I shouldn't be beating myself up about this.*

I, well... I noticed something else too. It kinda bugged me, so I felt like I should tell you and Yuma, when I had the chance to.

*He looks curiously at him.*

First, ah... That person who came around, later in the duel. Was she... she seemed to know who the "Barian" was. Was she a Barian herself?

Yes. She is. Her name is Labrys.

Her aura... wasn't like the Barian who dueled Yuma. It felt like static. Fuzzy. But... not bad, not like the first Barian.

The thing is... I've sensed something like that before. I felt something a little similar to it, from the other person who showed up in the duel-- the one you told to get me away from there, if things went bad.

But... I have also sensed it before, at the parties I've been to here.

You felt something similar to this on Alex and here at the Academy?

*He goes silent for a moment, while he thinks on this.*

If I get the chance to talk to Alex, maybe I'll ask her about that... but I have no idea who it is you could be sensing it off here at the Academy.

Sakaki-kun. While I have received an account of what occurred from Shirou here, I feel it would be best if you can tell me what exactly happened.

While I am thankful for the information he provided, it leaves a few unanswered questions, such as the appearance of the Barian that Tsukumo-kun confronted. It may be best to know how she looked, as we may need to stay alert about her, if she appears again.

She looked physically around her 20s, with short greenish-black hair. She wore a red catsuit-like thing with boots and black gloves. She was also wearing glasses.
You also couldn't really tell if she was male or female just by her appearance, but her voice was definitely feminine.

I see... It is at least better to know this.

I do apologize, though. This happened right outside the dorm, but I was not around to notice that it was occurring. I should have been there to help in some way.

You don't need to apologize, sensei. You can't be at the dorm 24/7.

I still should have at least been checking in. While anyone at my dorm is awake, I should try to stay aware, in any case. I am fully capable of it.

I guess we all kinda let our guard down a bit, huh.

... I am sorry. We should not need to worry about things like that. You should be more than allowed to let down your guard.

This is why I need to be more aware, Sakaki-kun.

Sometimes it feels like whenever we do dare let our guard down, something happens.

It is unnatural, that it occurs. You should not need to be dealing with events such as this.
