pendulum_soul | Event Post 4 - Christmas Party Time!

It is the Friday before winter break, and of course, it's the day for Yuya's Christmas party at Duel Academy!! If you head to the practical dueling test area you will find it completely decked out in paper garlands, tinsel and baubles. There is music playing loudly in the room, which is mostly popular Japanese music, but also some occasional Christmas tunes mixed in. Most of the music is upbeat, but there are also some occasional slow pieces too!

Up on the top walkway is where the buffet of food is set up on tables with just about everything you could imagine being on offer (And yes, there is extra of the meat based foods, Akuma!) as well as a few punch bowls scattered about. There is also a really nice strawberry Christmas cake on one of the tables, feel free to take a slice everyone, it looks REALLY good.

Down the stairs is the bottom part of the room, which is being used as a big dance area for anyone who wishes to dance to the music.

She chuckles nervously.

"...Bring her a new project I guess? N-not me! But maybe someone else! Or maybe just like, some dumb knick-knack or something. A newton's cradle?"

::... She's pondering to bring you to mom.::

... What's a Newton's Cradle?

No please my brains are already scrambled enough.

"One of those things with the balls and the force travels through all of them sending the end balls swinging for a while?"

::But they could be scrambled and you could look super pretty.::

... You mean those stupid perpetual doinking machines? I think mom has those.

I already look super pretty jeez.

"Well, maybe something else then. I'll go shopping with you to find something great, alright?"

::Drop dead hot Supermodel pretty.::

... I wouldn't mind that... What's your name again. I'm looking, but "Sea Ogre Girl" is all that's registering.

She snorts.

"Date Kiko. But we're definitely on a first name basis."

::Facepalms, blushing.::

I look like an idiot, don't I...

"Nah, just like. Someone who hasn't really bothered to learn names at all up until this point."

... I try! They. Just. Slip. Out.

She raises an eyebrow at that.

"Well, now you don't have an excuse Akae. Because I'm going to just make sure that you don't forget my name."

::???s at that, confused.::

She lightly taps your shoulder.

"Because I'll make sure we'll be hanging out and... You know. Spending time together."

... Oh.

::She blushes embarrassed.::

Ugh, why am I acting like such an idiot...

She shrugs.

"I dunno. Maybe you're just distracted. We talked some heavy stuff earlier. I can, ah. Stop touching you if you want?"

...

Ah. Er. ::Blushes awkwardly.:: Yes. Do that.

"Oh, yeah."

She pulls her arm from you and scoots away a little.

"Sorry, wasn't thinking. Didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."

... ::It wasn't that bad. ... She clears her throat.::

So. Christmas shopping.

"Christmas shopping. Knick-knacks? Maybe, uh, books?"

My mother's summer home, so to speak, is a library. I don't think books would be a good idea.

::Waves her hand.:: And her business is basically exotic magical knick-knacks and curios.

"Damn it. Maybe some sort of personalized thing then? Like a necklace with her name or a picture of you two hanging out?"

::Snaps her fingers.::

She likes things from the 80s for some reason.

"Big flashy necklace, reads 'Wakahisa' on it and then leopard print pants."
