Event Post 4 - Christmas Party Time!

It is the Friday before winter break, and of course, it's the day for Yuya's Christmas party at Duel Academy!! If you head to the practical dueling test area you will find it completely decked out in paper garlands, tinsel and baubles. There is music playing loudly in the room, which is mostly popular Japanese music, but also some occasional Christmas tunes mixed in. Most of the music is upbeat, but there are also some occasional slow pieces too!

Up on the top walkway is where the buffet of food is set up on tables with just about everything you could imagine being on offer (And yes, there is extra of the meat based foods, Akuma!) as well as a few punch bowls scattered about. There is also a really nice strawberry Christmas cake on one of the tables, feel free to take a slice everyone, it looks REALLY good.

Down the stairs is the bottom part of the room, which is being used as a big dance area for anyone who wishes to dance to the music.

*WELL I am sure a goggled somebody! Yuya wanders over to the table to see how Yuzu's secret santa thing was going and also to check to see if whoever he got had left a present for him yet. He happily greets Yuzu has he approaches.*

Yuya!

[Yuzu kinda tries to hide her gift with her arms.]

This is, uh. You did a good job with the party!

*Yuya smiles at her compliment.*

Thanks! It all came together really well and everyone seems to be enjoying it!

*He then notices that she's holding something.*

Hm? what are you holding?

[strongyuzu]

Oh, this? This is just, uh.

Just the gift I had to get for secret santa.

[pendulum_soul]

Oh, I see! Are you just waiting for the person you got to come by?

[strongyuzu]

Uhm. Yup, basically!

[...]

So. Here!

[She abruptly shoves the gift into Yuya's arms.]

[pendulum_soul]

Er... *He's a bit stunned at first, but then realizes why she gave him the gift.* ... oh! You got me?

*His face lights up as he looks at the gift.*

Thank you, Yuzu!!

*He almost looks as excited as a small child as he attempts to guess what the gift is, before starting to open it.*

It's nothing big, just, y'know... [She seems pretty nervous as he opens it.

There's two things in the box. The first is a guidebook: Curtain Call!: A Guide to Entermates, containing lore, strategy and concept art associated with the Entermates. The second is a model kit of a monster Yuya should recognize.]

I just saw it in the shop and there was just the one and.

I thought. You might like it.

*He carefully picks up the model kit of his father's ace monster from the box and looks at it. There's a huge mix of emotions on his face; Gratefulness, nostalgia... maybe a little bit of sorrowfulness mixed in.
But... he's smiling. It's a sincere smile as he looks it over carefully.

He knew the present would of been something good. It was from Yuzu after all and of course, she knew him the best out of everyone, but this was beyond what he'd expected. He honestly felt like anything he could say wouldn't express how truly grateful he was.

Congratulations, you have rendered him completely speechless!*

[strongyuzu]

[Yuzu wrings her hand a bit as Yuya opens the gift and looks through it. When he doesn't say anything, she becomes a little more nervous.]

So. Is that. Is that okay? 'Cause if it's not okay, I still have the receipt somewhere and you can exchange it, if you want!

[pendulum_soul]

*That brings Yuya out of his daze as he looks up at her. He realizes that he hasn't said anything to her yet. Even though he was struggling to really think up the right words, he figured he best say something!*

Ah, no! Yuzu, these are...

*He pauses, then gives her the same sincere smile.*

...these are both perfect.

[That gets a smile out of her.]

Oh....good. Good! I'm glad you like them!

*He gives her a grin back.*

*He looks back down at the model kit which is still in his hands.*

I think I'll use the holidays to build this up!
