I can't believe finals are so close! It only feels like yesterday we were starting at Duel Academy for the first time and now we're almost finished here.

After finals end there's gonna be a huge party open to both current and graduating students and those coming to the Academy for the new year! Information about that will be going up around the Academy later this week!
I'm gonna be making sure it's the best party I can throw!

But for now, more studying!

*After classes were done for the day, Yuya wanders up to the Academy's library. He knew very well that the person he was looking for was bound to be there and he was not disappointed.
Bright was there, just as expected. Now to put the plan into action!

Walking into the library, he greets Bright happily to let her know he was there.

"Hey, Bright!"*

I moved into my new dorm room in Ra Yellow a few days ago! It's quite a difference to Osiris Red and pretty cosy actually. My room faces out over the small balcony and towards the ocean which is really nice too.
It's been a little weird to adjust back to having my own room, but I'm sure I'll get used to it fairly quickly!

It is nice to have a TV.
And a computer.
And my own bathroom.

*Today is the day for Yuya's party, taking place in the pratical dueling arena. As usual, the tables full of various foods are located on the top floor and the dance floor is the dueling area down the stairs. There are balloons and colourful banners/garlands set up all over the place!

Anyone and everyone at the Academy are free to come and enjoy the party, whether in uniform or casual wear. The party has been set up in order to celebrate the end of the school year and the beginning of the next, as well as giving everyone the chance to send off the graduates and also allow new students that are joining to socialise and meet others.

Since finals have now started, I think it's the best time to announce the next school event!

I didn't run a summer event this year, but that's because I was hard at work on the event I'm announcing today!

The end of year party!!

The date for the party is the 27th, taking place on the week break before the new school year begins. We will all have our results by then so it allows us to celebrate our hard work, as well as giving us the chance to send off this years graduates! But not only that, any newcomers to the Academy that are joining the school in the coming year are also invited which will allow them to meet other people here!

So please, come along to the Practical Dueling Area on the 27th! The fun begins at 4pm and will run into the evening! 🎉🎈🎊

I got an invite to the Action Duel Tournament.

I really wanted to go and take part in it, but...

... I declined.

It really sucks, but, it's the same month as finals and there's no way I'd be able to concentrate on both.

I was released from the infirmary over the weekend, so I went back to classes on Monday and I've been spending each evening in the library to start catching up with the week's worth of school-work I missed. This will probably be what I'll be doing for the rest of the week too. Oh well.

After I've caught up, I'll be looking at how Yuma and I can start some training here on the island, at the suggestion of some of the teachers. We need to be better prepared for dealing with sudden situations so we don't keep ending up in the infirmary, risking both our health AND education.
We just need to increase our stamina a bit more.
That said, the island is pretty much like a natural assault course. There are cliffs and trees to climb, a forest to maneuver through, a beach to run on, rivers to swim in, so we have plenty of things to work with.

I passed my first year here! All the hard work I had to do to catch up with a month's backlog of schoolwork and prepare for finals at the same time really paid off. I even managed to do well enough to be considered for moving up to Ra Yellow for my second year here! Yuma managed to do the same, but... Yuma and I talked about it and to be honest, we really enjoy being roommates, so we both decided to stay in Osiris Red for this next year.

I might consider moving up in my last year though, once Yuma graduates.

Maybe a bunch of us should do something together to celebrate! This coming week is a break before classes start for the new year, so we could do something fun, like maybe hang out at the arcade in Domino City for a bit.

I think going out and having a fun time together might be good for a lot of us.

You know, I realized that this week marks a whole year I've been at the Academy. It's been a really crazy year, with REALLY crazy stuff happening, but despite all that I've really enjoyed meeting Yuma and everyone else here, as well as being able to experience all this with Yuzu, and Gongenzaka too!

I guess right now there's no time to celebrate since finals began this week and will continue next week, but I'm determined to get through to my second year!

Maybe after we get our results, we can do a little something to celebrate together! To just hang out and have some fun!

... I really didn't think things would end like that.

Expulsion duels, huh.

[Event Post]

Goggles over his eyes, Yuya was walking through a street. Head down. Hands in pockets. He was trying to be as unnoticeable as possible, but people still noticed him.
He could hear harsh whispers all around him.

"Hey, isn't that the runaways kid?"

"What's he doing here?"

"Did you hear? He also got expelled from Duel Academy!"

"How can he even show his face around here?"

Yuya sped up his pace, but the voices seemed to follow him.

"What a loser."

"He's nothing special."

"He's not only a runaway like his dad, but a failure!"

"Failed at one of the best dueling schools there is!!"

Yuya cupped his hands over his ears to try and drown out the sound, but he could still hear them. His pace slowly began speeding further and further, until he was running.

"He's never going to be a professional duelist now!"

"Like hell he could anyway!!"

"That's it! Run away!"

"You failed everyone!"

Yuya stopped and just dropped to his knees. He couldn't out-run these voices. They were all around him and getting louder and louder until they were just one loud constant noise ringing in his ears.
With that, he let out a frustrated yell.

Yuya let out a small, but frustrated cry as he bolted upright in his bed in his dorm room. He stayed quiet for moments afterwards, breathing heavily as he tried to collect himself and his thoughts. A single bead of sweat rolled down his face as he swallowed hard in between harried breathes. Slowly, he looked around the room, his eyes landing on where Yuma was sleeping in his hammock, he was glad but also surprised that he hadn't woken him up.

Slowly, he climbed down from the top of the bunk beds, his body still aching and tired from the dark game. He silently changed out of his nightwear into his regular clothes and left the dorm room.
Outside, dawn was only just breaking over the ocean, which meant it was early. Lowering the goggles over his face, he walked down the stairs and towards the harbour.

When he reached the lighthouse, he sat down, leaning against it, then pulled his legs to his chest and buried his face in them, letting out a heavy sigh as he did.

I enquired to the Principal about doing a Christmas Party at the Academy and I somehow left with the title of "Student Events Organizer".
I quite like the sound of that!!

Well, a Christmas party is definitely a go! It will be held just before winter break, so everyone has equal chance to go to it!
If any of you have any suggestions for it, then I'm all ears!

And I guess if I'm this events organizer thing now, I'd be happy to hear any suggestions for future events!

The fun has just begun!!

*After his action duel with Hayate, Yuya disappeared and is seemingly nowhere to be found. He also hasn't been answering any attempts to contact him on his PDA, Duel Disk or D-Gazer. He has been missing for the majority of the evening and it is now way after dark, which is worrying for those who know him. This has prompted a lot of the other students to just assume he ran off like a coward, just like his dad and has probably left the island, but for those actually looking for him, you believe that he's probably still on the island somewhere.

Even though it had been checked numerous times during the evening with no luck, Yuya can now be found at the lighthouse. It's about 10:45pm, and the boy is sat down with his back resting against the lighthouse, his knees hunched up to his chest. His arms are resting on top of his knees and he's holding his pendant up slightly with his right hand. He appears to be watching it swing slightly from side to side through his goggles which are placed over his eyes.
The pendant glints every so often as the light from the lighthouse hits it.

Whether you were looking for him or not, feel free to spot and approach him.*

I really hope everyone enjoyed watching our action duel today! Yuzu and I had a lot of fun showing you all how action duels work, as well as the entertainment style of You Show Duel School!

So I FINALLY located this cafe on the island that I've heard about that will make anything you ask for! Apparently it's where some spooky abandoned dorm used to be.

I sure hope they're open in the mornings before classes, because I want to go there and get a proper breakfast.

The last few days have been really awesome! I arrived at Duel Academy, I met my roommate and got to take a tour of the school. I had a talk with the principle and he's really interested in implementing the up-to-date solid vision technology to their duel fields so they can run action duels!! They won't be teaching about them this semester since they're super new here, but want to give the students a chance to try it out and hey, the more people that know about them, the more may look at going to the You Show Duel School to learn more!!

I had some spare time this afternoon, so I took the monorail to Domino City to check that out! I mean, it's the dueling capital of the WORLD, it's every duelists dream to get the chance to come here!

Though what's up with the park? Are they doing construction there or something? One area looked like a meteor had fallen on it or something, then was moved.

It's fun here though!
...I just hope my mom doesn't replace me with animals while I'm gone.
